(More customer reviews)My dog definitely heard the remote - she would stop for a very brief second, look at the remote with her ears perked up, then go about whatever it was she had been doing. It did nothing to discourage negative behavior.

If your cat friend won't stop mauling the corner of the couch or if your new puppy thinks the world is her chew toy, here's a simple and humane handheld device that makes it easy to modify cat behavior, train dogs for basic obedience, and more.Portable and easy to use, this palm-size pet trainer emits high-pitch sound waves with the push of a button to help correct unwanted behavior and reinforce desired conduct in both cats and smaller or more sensitive dogs. Whether they're your pets or the neighbors', these ultrasonic frequencies, inaudible to humans, help train pets to stop digging up the backyard, chewing up the furniture, jumping on folks, or barking at the postal worker and other passersby. And, for getting Fido to come when he's called as well as developing other basic canine obedience skills, there's no better training system.
Designed especially with small or timid dogs in mind, the transmitter emits two different ultrasonic sounds: a positive tone for rewarding good behavior and a negative tone for correcting unwanted behavior. With just two buttons to choose from, the first full-featured trainer designed for both the professional trainer and the average pet owner, the remote trainer comes complete with a comprehensive training video featuring renowned pet behaviorist and trainer Dr. Robert Andrysco who walks you and your canine cohort through basic obedience commands (sit, stay, come, heel, down, break). With no collar-receiver to attach, the device has an effective operating range up to 30 feet and works indoors and out. The purchase is backed by a Petsafe limited lifetime warranty.
