She does not pull as much as she used to (she's 14 years old now) so she responds easy to this collar. I wish I would have gotten rid of the metal choke chain 6-7 years ago and bought this. Very happy with purchase and delivery was A+.

(More customer reviews)I bought this collar for my dog when she was about 6 months old. It is extremely durable. There is a short built in leash that extends when you pull on it. It is not ideal for a normal walk with your dog, but very useful in many situations and does not get in the way because it retracts. Our dog is and Austrailian Shep/Collie mix and weighs about 70 lbs but strong. She has already broken the hook on two collars. She has not been able to break this one even when tied out. The collar is super kid friendly as well. Our children are able to walk for short periods without a regular leash. It has also been great when she's escaped outside when the door has been left open. Wanting to play and not obey, she doesn't always come when called, but will often buzz by me to play. I have been able to catch her by the leash attached to the collar and walk her into the house. Without the leash connection which extends when grabbed, it would be much more difficult. I am purchasing a new collar today because she needs the next size and the leash part has lost it's elasticity. But it lasted a long time and took a lot of abuse. I recommend it for every dog owner ESPECIALLY with children. SUPER STRONG and DURABLE.

(More customer reviews)I bought Flexi Click for my large sized Pug about 30 lbs (he is not show quality) and for my Great Dane. I don't usually have to have them on a leash, but once in a while it comes in handy as my Pug is deaf and a bit blind and sometimes can't find me even though I am right in front of him. These are the times I need to just grab a leash. I walk four dogs and I don't like to have four leashes in my hands when I don't need too. The large Flexi click is too short to work for my Pug, not enough line, and too weak for my Great Dane. I think if he pulled to go sniff something, it would break. I bought the large one to accommodate both dogs. It does hook on fine to the collar and attaches easily. I liked that feature. I just was disappointed that the leash part was so short. I guess it was unclear to me how long the retractable part was. Be sure you check that before buying. I suppose it would be better for my Catahoula or my Lab but they need to be on leash most of the time. I kept it instead of sending it back, cause I know it would be useful at some point for some dog in my life down the road.

PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System, PIF-300 Review

(More customer reviews)Since we are in the process of selling our home we decided to give this wireless system a try. FIRST, I would suggest you take your dog's temperament into consideration. Although I wouldn't consider our adopted 90 lb. male Weimaraner a wus, he isn't the Alpha dog either. The training aids were good and he quickly learned how far he could go on static shock level 4. He has since become so accustomed to our establised boundaries that we have lowered it to level 2 (level 1 is just an audible beep). Adjusting the shock level is very easy - it just involves unscrewing a small cover on the collar and depressing a button. On the transmitter, you adjust the RADIUS (remember that the signal is emitted in a circle from the transmitter) using a dial. EASY! It did take some effort to locate it correctly in our home - they suggest it be 24" off of the floor and it obviously has to be near an outlet, but it can emit a signal up to 90 feet in every direction - that's a total cross section of 180 feet! The only disadvantage we found - and it is minor - is that if your home sits higher (or lower??) than part of your yard it will add few extra feet to your radius until the collar picks up the signal. This can be overcome if you build this allowance into your transmitters placement. Overall, we are thrilled and we've had this about 4 months now. I have had people tell me that once water gets under the battery cover, the battery dies. I don't know, but after looking at the cover I think it would have to be a downpour before that happened - or maybe the dog went swimming or was bathed? Regardless, I placed a piece of duct tape - not pretty but functional - over the cover to keep this from happening. Finally, we will continue to use this even after we move since it has worked so well. A good investment to protect your pet but PLEASE don't forget to take the collar off of your dog before putting him in the car and backing our of the garage. YIKES!!!

reflective lite-up collar. It performed as stated on the web site. It has clear visibility as cars from about 5 blocks away tend to steer to the other side of the road well in advance (not knowing what the flashing light is).
Others think it is cool too. So now my dog is "Joe Cool" of the neighborhood.
One thing I would change in the design though: The ring where the leash attaches is limited so it is hard to add all the tags and id for the dog. I added another ring from an old collar so it works fine for me now.

I walk the dog 3X each day and the collar is removed after each walk, so that's a lot of wear & tear. The quick release buckle is much easier and convenient to use than the former "buckle & pin" style, just not as durable. Overall quality, workmanship, and finish is outstanding.

For those considering an in-ground radio fence, these things are great. I have a border collie that was digging under a 6' privacy fence, so I put up an above ground electric fence to stop the digging. He got shocked once, ran around to the other side of the yard, and jumped the 6' fence. After that, he knew he could clear the fence, and would get out frequently. We knew when he would get out because our female dog would yelp and endure the pain of the electric fence while she dug to get out with him. Finding them was another matter. Soon after I moved to a house with a three rail fence, and rather than put mesh up that I knew would do no good, I tried one of these in ground radio fences. As long as the fence is working and the battery is charged, my dogs have never gotten out. It is very humane, as the fence beeps prior to a shock, so after the initial training period, my dogs have only been shocked maybe once or twice, and then they understood the boundary. My female dog would run her battery out rather quick because she would always run around in the beep zone. I started using this 7 years ago, my female died and my 12 year old bought him a Brittany (very high energy)one year ago, and she trained quick and understood the whole fence thing with minimal training when we brought her home at 10 weeks.
