Flexi Compact 1 All Belt Retractable Leash Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This leash is SO much better then the corded which I was getting burned w/all the time since my puppy runs circles around me! Puppy also does not seem to get near as tangled up in the belt leash. Love this leash!

COMFORT 2 BLACK MEDIUM 30 - Medium - Black Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I've used these snappy leashes for years, but have now given them up. My current dog, while usually obedient, is liable to lunge after any squirrel that dares to enter her space, which means I'm likely to get my arm pulled out of its socket by a sudden pull of the leash. This doesn't seem to happen with a cloth or woven one, which I can also drop, if need be, without either me or my dog getting smacked by a big chunk of runaway plastic. But even when she's walking quietly, the constant zzzzzzz as the leash retracts and spools out gets annoying. Also, these leashes don't last very long - something snaps in the internal mechanism to make them limp and useless. I don't know if it's because of this lively little dog, or not; my last pooch was more sedate, and I seem to remember having to replace these things every few months, anyway. Finally, I've become more cautious about any leash package that contains warnings about possible injury to the dog owner. Whatever convenience a retractable leash provides - neater storage? - no longer seems worth it.

Flexi Comfort 1 Retractable All Belt Leash For Dogs Up To 44lbs. Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We tried the non-belt version from the same company and all I can say is that I will never own that type. It's very obvious why they are dangerous. This works well with our 9 lb dog, but will do well for larger dogs as well. I'd be a little concerned if your dog approaches the 44 lb limit, perhaps go to the larger model.
My only complaint, and it's a very small one is that the belt does get itself twisted. My general solution for this is to apply some lubricant (WD40 or similar) to the rotating section of the clasp. This helps, but only for a while.

Flexi Comfort 2 Retractable Cord Leash For Dogs Up To 44lbs. Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This review is for the Flexi Comfort 2 Retractable 16' Leash. For Medium Dogs (Up to 44 Lbs.) Made in Germany.
I originally purchased 2 of these over 5 years ago. One of them finally developed a weak, and finally broken spring after daily use. The other one (which has had the same amount of use) is still fine, and I'll keep it for a backup. The cords on both of the original ones still look brand new! Even though it looks thin, it has never let me down. And the dogs have tried very hard to break it by walking around trees, and car bumpers, etc. I suppose you could break it if you tried hard enough, but they never have.
These are used for walking 2 dachshunds (weight approx. 20 lbs ea.) daily for at least a mile, and often much more. In all kinds of New England weather. They've been dropped and dragged on both asphalt and dirt roads, in the mud and snow, with no ill effects.
Very highly recommended!

Flexi Expression Comfort 1 Leash, Small-Medium up to 44 Pounds, 16-Foot Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you aren't used to these retractable leashes, they're great. Your hand is only on the handle (not on other parts of the leash to manipulate the length), so it's more sanitary. With just your thumb, you control the braking and locking system (push down on the big button for the brake and slide up the small switch to lock the length in place).
Khufu loves that he can roam around (up to 16 feet!) wherever his nose takes him, and I love how I can be responsible and cautious by shortening the length of the leash when there are people or other dogs around.
Compared to the Flexi Classic models that I've owned, the Flexi Expression is more comfortable to hold because there's a thin rubber layer over the grip handle.
This model is also an all BELT leash (1 cm width), which I think is safer than the all CORD models. Ever have leg burns with the cord? Ouch! And I've never had tangling issues with this belt model.
From personal experience, I recommend for small breeds (even strong ones that yank and pull). I can't comment for larger breeds that require more restraint.
Have an enjoyable walk! We do!

Power Walker Retractable Dog Leash Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This leash was a little pricey but when the package arrived it seemed like it might be worth the price, it felt sturdy and had a nice grip. The problem is that the leash doesn't retract very well so any quick movements by my dog results is a wrap up that has to be untangled.
When the leash gets wet it becomes worse, we have to dry it out to get the leash back in the handle, too bad as I like the feel and it appears well made, just poorly engineered.

JMK 07100 10' Retractable Dog Leash - Assorted Colors Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Everything about this leash screams 'Cheap!'. Its Chinese-made junk. Every piece of it is made from the lowest quality parts. The plastic housing barely fits together, it feels like it will fall apart at any time. The leash winding/unwinding action is loud, when it works. It will often get stuck, forcing you to yank on the leash to get it moving again. 2 stars because hey, it does work, just poorly. I never considered there were standards of quality in dog leashes, but this is the lowest!

Lil Pals Retractable Leash, Extends 12-Feet long, For dogs up to 16# Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Great leash...the clip is nice--such a great feature (I actually made my mom jealous and want one for her dog when I showed my dog's new leash to her). I do wish the clip were slightly bigger, though, because it doesn't fit rings that are thicker (like on my dog's car harness). Not a super big deal...I just make sure she wears her collar then when she wears that harness. The handle is also really small, but if you have small hands (like me) it is perfect and feels secure--almost like it is holding onto you and not vice versa. I love this leash! It is such a pretty color, too.

Flexi Expression 2 Leash, Medium-Large up to 77 Pounds, 16-Foot Review

Flexi Retractable Mini Cord Lead, 10ft Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The Flexi Classic extra small is supposed to be a good size for small dogs, but it doesn't say it must also be for small people!! The handle of the leash is too small for even 3 of my fingers to squish into and it's even too small for my 10 year old to hold comfortably. Unless you have VERY small hands, or you are sending a VERY small child to walk the dog(!), I wouldn't recommend it.

Flexi Retractable All Belt Lead, 16ft Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is my second leash of this model; my first one wore out after 7 years (inner spring failed). My sole complaint about this model is that it is a bit too small to fit my hand in comfortably all the time, and I have small hands. In the winter, I can only get a couple of fingers through when wearing any gloves.
Nevertheless, for walking my 16-lb. Peke at the same time as my 60-lb. Chow Chow, it's ideal. It gives room for each dog to keep its own pace, but doesn't let my Peke get so far away that I can't rein him in when he gets too feisty with other dogs. The tape is far less likely to burn skin (cord Flexis have scarred me more than once, and more often they belong to others!) and if the mechanism on the last one failed after 7 years of 3-4 walks/day, then I'd say it held up well.

Flexi Classic 2 Medium, 44lbs, 16ft. Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought the small size version of this but sent it back because it was too small for my hand (average sized male hand). I bought this one for a little more $$ and works great.
I love the fact that you can lock the lead with just one hand unlike my old retractable lead I had. When you're trying to get in your mailbox with the dog on the leash it comes in handy.
The price on Amazon is cheaper than Petsmart or Petco...ymmv.

Planet Dog Zip Lead Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love this leash. It is small enough to fit in your hand, the control is unbelievable and the loop that goes around your wrist makes it so easy to walk your dog because you can still use your hand if needed. The other retractable leashes are big and bulky, this one seems like you are not even holding it. I am buying another one for my other dog since this one was a gift. Highly recommended!!!!

Flexi Click 3 Collar-Attaching 20 Retractable Dog Leash, Black Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought Flexi Click for my large sized Pug about 30 lbs (he is not show quality) and for my Great Dane. I don't usually have to have them on a leash, but once in a while it comes in handy as my Pug is deaf and a bit blind and sometimes can't find me even though I am right in front of him. These are the times I need to just grab a leash. I walk four dogs and I don't like to have four leashes in my hands when I don't need too. The large Flexi click is too short to work for my Pug, not enough line, and too weak for my Great Dane. I think if he pulled to go sniff something, it would break. I bought the large one to accommodate both dogs. It does hook on fine to the collar and attaches easily. I liked that feature. I just was disappointed that the leash part was so short. I guess it was unclear to me how long the retractable part was. Be sure you check that before buying. I suppose it would be better for my Catahoula or my Lab but they need to be on leash most of the time. I kept it instead of sending it back, cause I know it would be useful at some point for some dog in my life down the road.
