(More customer reviews)Australian Shepherds are a herding breed that tend to bark at or want to chase anything that moves. Obedience training helps but this product is faster without the pain of a standard or pinch collar. My current Aussie is my 4th rescue and at 64 lbs can sprint at 18 M.P.H., trot all day at 8 to 10. My neighbor uses his Aussie to roller board (no snow here) . These are strong dogs.
I feared dying while struggling to restrain "Biscuit" racing down two flights of concrete stairs while he is pulling against my restraint, wheezing. After a year of shoulder pain, I gave up and purchased the Gentle Leader reflective from Amazon since my local mart does not stock this, only an imported knock-off. This is a well-built product with thick segments and large snaps.
"Biscuit" immediately accepted the Gentle Leader. He didn't even test me with it. I now hold the leash (yes it does reflect) loosely in my hand while he trots at my side. I am not "sold" on the "Martingale Loop" yet; although it does seem to work. I just do not care for the resulting leash wobbling. A smaller size might put more cross-chest pressure to overcome the loop's roll but at rest it is already tight across him.
You will need to adapt your walking style. I still use the standard collar with its registration tags. I find crossing the included leash across his side and back minimizes the leash wobble. Alternately, keep the dog at your side with the leash falling directly to the dog's chest.
Oh, your dog will probably want more walks too.

(More customer reviews)You know how painful and annoying it is when your clothes pinch, rub and don't fit you properly? Well...your dog feels the same way, except he can't tell you.
I would have rated this 5 stars because: (a) it is reflective...a great safety feature; and (2) the principle behind the design which protects the dog's neck and (except for the dedicated puller) discourages pulling.
My 3 star rating is based on the following reasons:
(1) the placement of the opening buckle for the bottom (black colored) strap that goes under the dog's chest hits my dog's elbow bone (uncomfortable and causes bruising and redness);
(2) the front starp with the martingale feature (the strap that goes across the front of the dog's chest is too short for a broad chested dog (I have an adopted 12 week old rescued American Pit Bull Terrier...the tweener size S/M barely fit her across her chest when adjusted to the widest dimension)
(3) the finishing on the cut edges has sharp and pointy dried glue which I had to file down with an emory board so they wouldn't bite into my dog's skin; and
(4) the stiff material from which the straps are made have a hard edge that cuts into my dog's skin at pressure points and wears off her fur.
Improvements in design I'd like to see (which may make this a more expensive product): (1) Softer fabric/material for the straps to avoid the hard edges; (2) Placement of the bottom strap buckle so it does not ride directly behind and rub against the dog's elbow; (3) more room or more adjustment on the front chest strap for broader chested breeds (4) Sewn and better finished edges rather than blued edges so the hard glue does not created sharp points or edges that cut into the dog's skin.
I didn't want to return the product (to avoid shipping and restocking fees) so I smoothed out all the rough edges with an emory board (the puppy will outgrow this first harness very quickly).
For now, I use this harness only for very short periods of time...short walkies for bathroom breaks. I never leave it on her when she isn't outside walking with me. Read the instructions...this is not a harness for taking your dog on a hike (get a [...] three point harness with climber straps for rough terrain and steep hills...Ruff Wear Double Back Harness) or get a special harness for long walks or running (get a very comfortable, leash-harness made for that purpose...Z-Hands Free Leash).

(More customer reviews)I have to disagree with the person who gave this collar 1 star. I've been using the collar now for about 2 months to teach my dog self control and to teach him not to eat poop. I made the collar loose so the spray unit just hangs under his chin, which means he can wear it much of the day. (The instructions assumed it would be set tight and recommended no more than 8 hours.) I do keep an eye on whether it needs charging and refill the spray probably more often than needed. Neither I nor my 200 lb husband could fill the chamber for the 15" the instructions say without backspray of the liquid. Five seconds is more like it.
All in all, this isn't perfect, but it works for me. I like not using electricity which would simply amp an already-excited dog up even more. This makes him stop and think.

(More customer reviews)My cats have been wearing these collars for a while now, they are the nicest looking collars I have seen.
Pros:
This is the only leather safety release collar for cats I could find! The leather is very high quality and the dye is colorfast and does not come off on their fur. My cats looks very handsome with these collars.
Cons:
I wish they were not quite so wide at the back (the part that goes on the top of the cats' neck) because the hard leather is starting to wear their fur a bit. Also the range of adjustment for size is not very large because the collar rapidly widens and the buckle can't move up around the collar to make it smaller, and it just barely closes on my biggest cat. A keeper for the end would also be nice, for smaller cats the unsecured end sticks out a bit.

Power Walker Retractable Dog Leash Review

(More customer reviews)This leash was a little pricey but when the package arrived it seemed like it might be worth the price, it felt sturdy and had a nice grip. The problem is that the leash doesn't retract very well so any quick movements by my dog results is a wrap up that has to be untangled.
When the leash gets wet it becomes worse, we have to dry it out to get the leash back in the handle, too bad as I like the feel and it appears well made, just poorly engineered.

It distracts them and now they only growl a bit and run outside if they really want to bark. The first time they barked both of them stopped and immediately stared at the unit! I will say, this won't work for all dogs, only if your dog responds to noise distraction. My mother got something similar for her maltese and he just ignores it.

(More customer reviews)We bought a breakaway collar after a horrifying thanksgiving day incident. My dad's 2 dogs were playing outside with each other as they normally do. All of a sudden we heard the worst squealing/howling sound coming from our german sheppard we had ever heard. He had gotten his jaw stuck in our other dogs collar and the collar was so tight it was strangling the other dog. My father ran outside and found that the dog was suffocating and cut his collar off of him. It took the dog awhile for him to catch his breath and finally get up again, but if given a bit longer without air he would have died. I wish all dog owners knew the dangers of regular collars. It's so important to have a break away collar because it will snap under pressure. Our dog was lucky that someone was there to help him but many dogs are not as lucky, please use this collar and encourage others to get it as well.

This collar is made really well. Everyone at the dog run comments on it. Wonderdog seems to really have their act together.
