The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE Review

The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - LARGE
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My veterinarian recommended I try this halter in order to control a 70 pound adolescent sheepdog who was next to impossible to walk. While the veterinarian admitted had no experience with the halter, an employee in his office had highly recommended its use. She used to have a husky who was a former sled dog and this product was the only thing that would control her husky. Our Ginnie Mae chased cars, stalked animals and seemed to think she was a sled dog pulling me! Choker collars did little to deter her dangerous behavior. She would tug until she backed out of a regular collar. If she saw a bird my arm was torn out of the socket! On more than one occasion, I ended up mid air and on the ground! Daily walks were dangerous and neither one of the kids could walk her.
Our first walk with the Sporn Halter was amazing. This formerly uncontrollable dog never tugged at the leash--NOT ONCE! The halter completely subdued her behavior. The straps around her front legs are not at all tight so the dog seems completely comfortable. It is easy to fit, easy to get on and off the dog and the dog does not seem to be bothered by the apparatus. The Sporn collar can remain on the dog (with the arm straps detached) but I have found it easier to just leave her regular collar on and leave the sporn halter on the leash. No reason the kids cannot walk her now!
I do not know why this apparatus works but it absolutely does!

The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - MEDIUM Review

The Sporn Pull Stop Halter Leash BLACK - MEDIUM

I like this because it is easy to put on and take off--and it is flexible for when I want to let my pooch off leash but not take off the harness. It helps a little with pulling but is no magic contraption.
I like it for my older pup who I am not trying to train but want to keep from choking herself on a walk, but I gave it four stars because it doesn't stop pulling like it claims.

This lead is awesome as a kind way to train your pooch. It takes a few hours for pups to get used to the feel of face straps and passersby sometimes think the dog is mean, assuming the dog is muzzled, but your dog will listen to your commands in no time. We only use ours now in situations where the dog will become very excited such as entering the bark park. Being disabled, this is all the difference between being able to take her, or not. It works!

SENSE-ible No-Pull Dog Harness - Black Large Review

SENSE-ible No-Pull Dog Harness - Black Large
Average Reviews:

We have been using this harness for our 80 pound lab for the past 3 years. It's been the only thing that has worked for us with his pulling. It makes sense since the leash connects on the chest instead of some harnesses that connect on the back allowing the dog more leverage to pull. Our former dog walker loved it so much she recommended it to her other clients. Many of our dog friends bought one too after seeing how well it worked for our zealous lab. A couple of pointers I thought were helpful: Make sure you measure your dog correctly - the girth just behind the front legs. Also, we found that when we walk him with the harness on it helps a great deal if he is walking right beside us with a little slack in the leash. It doesn't work as well if he's way out in front of you.

NEW Adjustable Freedom Harness No Pull Black Medium Review

NEW Adjustable Freedom Harness No Pull Black Medium
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a professional dog walker and trainer so it's important to me to have a wide variety of harnesses and collars on hand. Recently I ran into a nice couple who had 2 miniature greyhounds but were unable to find a good fitting harness for them. They're long necks and lean bodies made it near impossible to find anything that didn't hurt their delicate frame. The owners had even contacted a greyhound breeder and organization to ask what type of harness they could recommend, but they had absolutely no recommendations. When we attempted to try these harnesses on the dogs, they fit like a glove. They were perfect and flawless. The dogs seemed comfortable in them and even enjoyed wearing them. Once they were leashed, the owners had full control over the movements of their dogs, without having to worry about either dog slipping out of the harness nor causing harm to their delicate bodies.
I highly recommend this harness to all small dog owners, and that goes double for anyone who owns a miniature greyhound or a dog with a similar structure.

SENSE-ible No-Pull Dog Harness - Black Medium/Large (Wide) Review

I have a 50lb 12 year Old English Sheepdog.I don't know if the neck leads did this or age but she has a spur in her neck and a harness was suggested. Because the pain can radiate to leg at times I wanted a harness she didn't have to step into. This is wonderfully engineered as there is something the way the lead is connected under the neck that gives amazing control. She at times approaching dogs could become excited and twirl around and hard to control but I have no problem with this harness. It is well worth the price. It is so easy to put on. A medium fit well.

I have a 7 year old lab----- very very sweet and really really strong---- In the 7 years that I have had her I have tried every collar--- harness-- leash etc that is out there-----this is the first one I have found that she is comfortable in and she does not pull--- when she does give a little pull(like when she sees a rabbit)--it is very easy to control her without injuring her neck which is what I was afraid the collars would do--- we now go on several walks a day which have become fun for both of us rather than a chore for me and for her-----

Easy Walk Harness - Medium, Black Review

Easy Walk Harness - Medium, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This helped me train my dog to heel off-leash. If you understand how to train your dog, this will be an amazingly helpful tool.
However, I found that the adjustments slip very easily. This caused the front chest strap to fall. If I pulled when it fell, I'd be pulling on my pups legs, making him trip.
You CANNOT use this as an everyday harness. It's not made so you can yank on a dog that is constantly pulling. If you do this, you'll run into the "my dog walks at an angle" problem, and find the straps loosening up all the time.
Also, a warning to people with dogs with deep chests relative to height i.e. Boston Terriers, Frenchies, Doxies, Pits, etc. Your dog won't fit the harness so well. It'll take a lot of adjustment, and you'll never get it the way the picture says you should, so don't even bother.

Reflective Easy Walk Harness, Medium/Large, Black Review

Reflective Easy Walk Harness, Medium/Large, Black

We have 2 tuggers, about 60 lbs each, with strong chests. We have tried everything, including (but not limited to): harnesses with leash attachments on the back instead of chest; gentle leader; the Cesar Milan thing; dozens of training collars; etc.
One of our dogs trained within days using this harness. The other dog, who is always a bit slower to learn, still tugs a bit, but when he does, it is not with as much force. He seems to be finally getting it. And when he pulls, I'm happy it is from his chest and not his throat.
We have tried the regular and reflective version of this harness. The fabric used in the regular version was not strong. The reflective fabric is *much* sturdier. I highly recommend this one.

Reflective Easy Walk Harness, Small/Medium, Red Review

Reflective Easy Walk Harness, Small/Medium, Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
You know how painful and annoying it is when your clothes pinch, rub and don't fit you properly? Well...your dog feels the same way, except he can't tell you.
I would have rated this 5 stars because: (a) it is reflective...a great safety feature; and (2) the principle behind the design which protects the dog's neck and (except for the dedicated puller) discourages pulling.
My 3 star rating is based on the following reasons:
(1) the placement of the opening buckle for the bottom (black colored) strap that goes under the dog's chest hits my dog's elbow bone (uncomfortable and causes bruising and redness);
(2) the front starp with the martingale feature (the strap that goes across the front of the dog's chest is too short for a broad chested dog (I have an adopted 12 week old rescued American Pit Bull Terrier...the tweener size S/M barely fit her across her chest when adjusted to the widest dimension)
(3) the finishing on the cut edges has sharp and pointy dried glue which I had to file down with an emory board so they wouldn't bite into my dog's skin; and
(4) the stiff material from which the straps are made have a hard edge that cuts into my dog's skin at pressure points and wears off her fur.
Improvements in design I'd like to see (which may make this a more expensive product): (1) Softer fabric/material for the straps to avoid the hard edges; (2) Placement of the bottom strap buckle so it does not ride directly behind and rub against the dog's elbow; (3) more room or more adjustment on the front chest strap for broader chested breeds (4) Sewn and better finished edges rather than blued edges so the hard glue does not created sharp points or edges that cut into the dog's skin.
I didn't want to return the product (to avoid shipping and restocking fees) so I smoothed out all the rough edges with an emory board (the puppy will outgrow this first harness very quickly).
For now, I use this harness only for very short periods of time...short walkies for bathroom breaks. I never leave it on her when she isn't outside walking with me. Read the instructions...this is not a harness for taking your dog on a hike (get a [...] three point harness with climber straps for rough terrain and steep hills...Ruff Wear Double Back Harness) or get a special harness for long walks or running (get a very comfortable, leash-harness made for that purpose...Z-Hands Free Leash).

Sporn Stop Pull Halter, Large Red Review

Sporn Stop Pull Halter, Large Red
Average Reviews:

I own pit-bull that likes to pull and love to chew through harnesses
this works great I can remove the harness part when not in use it clips on and off leash
and the harness when in use he tries to pull and he finds that the Resistance is not against me
but more against him and when he pulls the string tightens around his arms to give him a little
discomfort so that he will stop it does not harm or hurt him because it is padded on the string that
goes under his arms some harnesses do not have that witch can cause hair loss fallowed bye redness and sores
also I have been noticing that it has been training sometimes I don't have time to put on his harness
so he just has the collar on before when he just had the collar he wood pull and jump on people now he does not
pull and jump on people whether the harness is on or off so if your dog jumps or pulls just bye having this item
you can see a change in his beaver almost in just a week or in my case half a week and it has a lifetime warranty
so you can't go wrong hope this helps Mike.

This training lead did not last a month. I use this for one of my dogs, in training to stay in the yard, and not chase critters. The lead was never left outdoors, and only used a couple times a day. It did get used in the rain, however. One day, I noticed that lead was divided in two..It had separated, and it seems the material just could not stand getting wet. I found this, and then attached the pieces together...However, two weeks later, the lead broke in another place...I tried to fix it, and it broke again. This was all while the dog was in the yard, being supervised. He did not chew it...It might have gotten tangled in a twig, but that is about all. I still have a another lead that I bought..Paid a bit more for it, and it is still intact after 6 months.

SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Medium/Large (Wide) Black Review

SENSE-ation No-Pull Dog Harness - Medium/Large (Wide) Black

After blowing through just about every device in the book to get my young, drivey American Staffordshire Terrier to walk without dragging me or my husband down the street, I can reliably recommend this product as the best of all of them. It doesn't irritate the skin like a pinch collar does, and it's more effective, because it doesn't rely on a pinch that some dogs (like mine) can't even feel. It directs the dog, and they don't seem to be able to resist.
I also tried the Easy Walk, mostly because I gave my first Sense-ation harness away to someone who was rescuing a pitbull puppy, and Easy Walk was the only front-attachment harness my local pet store carried. Now I'm back online ordering the Sense-ation. It fits better, has fewer moving parts (no shoulder buckle and no martingale front) and the webbing seems to be softer and more durable.

This is an excellent training product and is not cruel. I fitted it to my arm and jerked on it as hard as I use it on the dog. It was uncomfortable, but not painful. The prongs are not sharp. It has been very effective with my lab puppy who has been pulling very hard on his leash to the point that he would gag and cough. After one walk with this collar his pulling behavior was completely eliminated.

I love the concept of this harness. I started with a similar harness made by a different company. The other brand had the buckle located right at his leg (in his doggie "armpit") and it rubbed him raw. This harness has the buckle located lower down on his abdomen in a much better spot. It also has better instructions with photos of how it should fit along with an explanation of why it should be fitted that way.
