Lighted Collar, LG, (22"-26") Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My black dog is totally invisible at night without this collar. I like that almost the whole length of the collar lights up and is not just a spot or two here and there.

Premier Breakaway, Large, Color: Purple Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We bought a breakaway collar after a horrifying thanksgiving day incident. My dad's 2 dogs were playing outside with each other as they normally do. All of a sudden we heard the worst squealing/howling sound coming from our german sheppard we had ever heard. He had gotten his jaw stuck in our other dogs collar and the collar was so tight it was strangling the other dog. My father ran outside and found that the dog was suffocating and cut his collar off of him. It took the dog awhile for him to catch his breath and finally get up again, but if given a bit longer without air he would have died. I wish all dog owners knew the dangers of regular collars. It's so important to have a break away collar because it will snap under pressure. Our dog was lucky that someone was there to help him but many dogs are not as lucky, please use this collar and encourage others to get it as well.

Bite-Free Collar, SIZES: M/L-6in Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My dog had surgery on her knee and I purchased this item because she hates the cones. (Takes out all the living room furniture by throwing her body around in terror.) I don't know if I measured wrong or what, but she was able to get to her incision no problem. My husband helped me with the measuring the second time, and we still came up with the same measurement. She was 6.5 inches from the back of her head to the top of her shoulder blade, so the directions said not to go over the size because it would be very uncomfortable for the dogs. So, we bought the 6" collar. Maybe it was just too short and that is why it didn't work. She is about the same size of a lab.

Tulip Red - ADJUSTABLE CAT SAFETY COLLAR-BREAKAWAY Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought six of these collars for my five cats. (I bought an extra just in case one of the cats lost one.) I thought the colors were great, and I was happy with the idea of the material, as opposed to cheap vynil. They do look fashionable, I think, and are discreet enough to not take away from the beauty of the cat itself. However, these collars are NOT "breakaway" collars. They enlarge if they get caught on something, but this actually only adds its own problems. Several times my cats came home with one leg through the collar (and the collar extended as far as possible). I hated to think what would have happened if the cat had gotten the collar caught on something AFTER getting the leg stuck. One cat finally did come home without his, and I didn't replace it. Another came home with the collar around her chest (both front legs had gone through), and it was constricting her. I pulled to try to get it off, but it was obviously very painful, and in the end the only solution was for me to cut it off. I decided these collars are not very safe after all--too bad I bought six at once (the reviews at the time were pretty good, generally). I've taken them all off, and now my daughters can play with them on their stuffed animals. They look do look cute! I just don't trust them on live animals.

Stud Muffin Light Me Up Dog Collar (Small, Red LED) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This collar is great. I like taking my dog to the park at dusk, but as it got dark I would occasionally I would lose track of him and panic a little bit. That hasn't happened since I bought the collar.
The collar works better than the first solution I checked out (a little dangly light on the leash clip) because the LED lights up the whole collar, making my Schnauzer much more visible.

26 INCH - ORANGE - Reflective Stripe Safety Dog Collar Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I purchased this 'Guardian Gear' brand collar in CO, on vacation in 2009... The CA pet stores do not carry this brand. I am so delighted with this collar .. I was pleased that the 'reflective' part of the collar survives being washed... Another reviewer said it was flaking off ... Not Mine!! I purchased this collar for my daughter's dog.. for Christmas..... I think they will like it as well.. It's adjustable, especially since dogs do put on a 'winter coat' in CO, where she lives...Her dog is part Golden Retriever, so LOTS OF ADDITIONAL HAIR...It's a good sturdy collar, unlike others I have purchased...it washes up nicely and I love the 'reflective' band around the entire collar.. My daughter takes her dog camping with them, so she's not always in a fenced area .. but if she should get loose at night, they will definately see the reflective collar easily... the Orange color is bright!! It's a great price too.. I paid more for my dogs collar in CO... I have to order this brand 'online' only.. none here in CA!!

Guardian Martingale Collar 22-34 In Black Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)UPDATE: I suggest the "Martingale" collar withOUT the chain. Rather get the all fabric model. The chain is so heavy it constantly slides down (gravity) and puts the collar in an improper and unsafe position around my dogs neck.
ALSO: TRIPLE CHECK SIZE
PREFERENCE: I Got a RED (all fabric, no chain) one and it's not only great, but EVERYONE loves the way the RED accents and looks so good on my Blue Nose American Pit Bull Terrier.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Good sturdy quality. Got large, which is just a bit too large after adjusting it to the smallest setting.
Also, the chain portion is so heavy, that when there is no tension on the leash, the mental slides down and into the wrong position, making the effectiveness much less, and constantly readjusting it around back to the top of my dogs neck.
Also, the metal makes a lot of noise when shaking at a normal walking pace, or when my dog shakes his head.
See: STARMARK COLLARS. Blue Plastic Pinch collar - is the greatest collar I've ever used.

Small PolyBrite Dog Collar (Red/black , 12-16 in.) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a great product but I got one that does not work. I emailed the person I bought it from and they were really nice about it and said they would send me another one. That was 2 weeks ago and I have never heard from them again. I sent an e-mail and did not get a reply. Will not do business with these people again.. I feel like I threw away my money. I have nothing to show for it but a collar that does not work.

PolyBrite LED Illuminated Dog Collar- Green/16-22" Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After recieving a polybrite collar as a gift years ago, I had to find our new dog one. These are great collars with a long battery life. The battery in the older collar is still holding strong. I use these collars when letting the dogs out in the yard at night while taking out the garbage, having different color collars for each dog so I know who is who while out in the yard. When I walk them in the early moring or late evening they are also great for saftey and being noticed by vehicles that drive down the county roads that we walk along. They are visable and much better than just a "reflective" collar because they light-up or blink and are visable without being in the path of vehicle lights. Great collars that are easy to size for the perfect fit, turn on & off and that has safety in mind! I Highly recommend them!

Spike Lighted Dog Collar - Silver - Small/Medium Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a good source of light around the dog unless the dog has very thick fur then it might obscure the collar. The down side to this product is the weird latch. Unlike most collars that just snap together, you have to slide the protruding end into a track on the other side. It's not as easy as it sounds on a moving dog and even more of a pain to get off because you have to find the side with the release mechanism. I don't even use it much anymore because it's not easy to get off and on.

Illuminated Dog Collar Size Small (12" x 16") Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I was very pleased overall with this purchase of the
reflective lite-up collar. It performed as stated on the web site. It has clear visibility as cars from about 5 blocks away tend to steer to the other side of the road well in advance (not knowing what the flashing light is).
Others think it is cool too. So now my dog is "Joe Cool" of the neighborhood.
One thing I would change in the design though: The ring where the leash attaches is limited so it is hard to add all the tags and id for the dog. I added another ring from an old collar so it works fine for me now.

Guardian Gear Blue Martingale Greyhound Dog Nylon & Chain Training Collar 13"-18" x 5/8" Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I've bred and shown Shelties for a number of years. I prefer this collar to all others for training; it's much safer than a regular choke collar but offers some of the same precise feedback and control for the dog. In addition, a puppy or "balky" dog can't back up and literally back out of this collar. It's lightweight, and I actually like the metal chain "live ring" section better than the all-nylon martingales. It's easier to see what you're doing and where to hook the leash; there's no question as to which section goes over the dog's head; and the links are a lot more flexible than the straight nylon, especially in the larger sizes. A winner.
